You can, too, take him anywhere
Now your baby or toddler can take a seat anywhere -- literally. Safeline Kids' car seat-stroller combination, the Sit'n'Stroll, meets or exceeds all US Department of Transportation safety standards, and is rated to hold 22 pounds in the rear-facing position, and up to 40 pounds facing forward. Take it out of the back seat and it converts easily to a fully functional stroller that can hold up to 40 pounds. Flying somewhere? Roll it down the concourse but forget about having to check the stroller at the gate; retract the wheels and it's an FAA-certified flight seat. Going out to eat? Wheel it into the restaurant and use it as a booster seat at the table. It has a five-point harness to keep your child secure, and an adjustable height handle to keep parents comfortable. It costs about $200 and is available online at www.sitnstroll.com. It's also available at The Right Start stores in the Burlington Mall (telephone 781-272-3353) and Natick Mall (508-647-0907); and at The Baby Place (50 Worcester Road, Natick; 508-653-0959). A bicyclist's main squeeze
Slime not only seals punctures up to a quarter-inch in tubeless tires, but also can prevent flats by coating the inside of the tire. It's a nonaerosol, biodegradable, fiber-based formula; one 32-ounce can treats two tires. It costs $13.95 from Sporty's Tool Shop catalog (800-543-8633) or online at www.sportys.com.
Refresher course
It's hard to shower when you're hiking in the wilderness. Wipe the sweat and grime away at the end of the day with this variation on a washcloth: Dove Body Refreshers. A pack of 15 costs about $3 at many grocery stores and pharmacies, including Shaw's, Star Market, and CVS (you can also find them online at www.cvs.com). Another solution: Baby wipes cost $3 to $6 for a package of about 170; put a small stack in a resealable plastic bag and you're good to go.
