Less grueling grilling

There's still plenty of summer for tailgating and camping and cookouts. If you don't want to deal with coals or campfires, there is Thermos's Grill2Go: a portable grill with a Teflon cooking surface that is 60 percent grill and 40 percent griddle and puts perfect char marks on your burgers while sauteeing veggies on the side. Its legs can be folded or extended, so you can use it in the back of the truck or free-standing. The Grill2Go's surface is sealed -- no dangerous flare-ups, no poking around in the ashes for that hot dog -- and you can cook for up to two hours at a time with a one-pound tank of propane. It weighs about 35 pounds and is about the size of a cooler. It costs about $200 and is available at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Target, Lowe's, Sears, Kmart, and B.J.'s Wholesale stores; for more information, or to find other retailers, call 800-562-3009 or visit www.grill2go.com.

Engineered and easy to swallow

This sleek Thermal Bullet Bottle comes in midnight blue or stainless steel. The best thing about the slim thermal container for liquids is its fiddle-free pouring spout: Simply press a button and a slot slides open. Pour in your hot espresso or iced tea and then click the slot closed. Nothing to unscrew, and no leaky stopper to try to replace one-handed while you're driving. It costs $28 and is available at many Starbucks stores; by calling 800-782-7282; or online at www.starbucks.com.
