Get set to meditate
DharmaCrafts began more than 20 years ago as a dream come true for founder Dyan Eagles. Now based in Lexington, her business has grown from a tiny operation hand-stuffing meditation cushions and sewing meditation pants to a large catalog carrying a huge assortment of meditation accessories and teaching materials related to Buddhism, many of them created by Buddhist artists and craftspeople. These Zafu, or meditation cushions, measure only 11 inches in diameter and 7 inches high, making them easy to take anywhere. The firm, round, hand-made seats are stuffed with more than four pounds of kapok, a fiber native to Thailand, then covered in sturdy 100 percent cotton duck.
